The latest issue of Japanese Famitsu magazine reveals that the a 3DS title based on Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) will be coming out in Japan this December.
The game is called Shingeki no Kyojin: Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa or (The Last Wings of Mankind) and is being developed by Spike Chunsoft. This is the first time that a studio has decided to bring the manga/anime hit on to a game console. Until now all we’d seen is a social game, Attack on Titan: The Wings of Counterattack, that was launched in Japan on the GREE mobile platform on April 26 by Strategy & Partners.
More information regarding the 3DS title has yet to be revealed but we do know that the game is said to allow players to take control of Eres, Mikasa, Armin and many other heroes. The game also sticks to the manga’s original plot in story mode. The “3D Mobility Gear” will also come into play and help players quickly move around the map. With the featured co-op support, players can hook up with three of their friends and play together in bringing down the Titans.
At the recent Anime Expo another game based on the manga was announced but will see the light of day sometime next year.
Attack of Titan sees to the invasion of humanoid giants who when given the chance devour living human beings. Pushed back, the remaining humans have now formed a small enclave with high walls to keep the giants out. However, when a new Titan suddenly appears out of no where and breaks down the wall; things start getting messy and we get to see our lead protagonist unveil a family secret.
